*本物を体験する機会
プラハは世界的な音楽祭も開催され音楽の都としても有名である。私は芸術に詳しい訳ではないが、「本物」を体験できるのは貴重な機会なので、そのような街ではできる限りそこでしか出来ない体験を旅程に組み入れることにしている。プラハはスメタナホールが有名で外観にもアール・ヌーヴォー洋式の装飾が施されていた。外観だけでは勿体ないのでそこで音楽を聴きたいと思い、調べると当日でも券が買えるようだったので、安い席を買いクラシックコンサートを鑑賞した。芸術の感性を磨くには幼い頃から本物に触れること、と言われるが、私はそのような機会は全くなかったので、正直その良さはわからなかった。ただ、遅くても体験しないよりは良いだろうと思い、旅をきっかけに色々と体験しているので、いつか芸術がわかるようになると良いなあと思っている。

*The Value of Experiencing the Real Thing
Prague is also known as a city of music, hosting world-renowned festivals throughout the year. While I wouldn’t call myself particularly knowledgeable about the arts, I believe that experiencing the “real thing” is a rare and valuable opportunity. Whenever I visit such places, I try to include experiences that can only be had there.
One of the most famous venues in Prague is Smetana Hall, whose exterior is beautifully adorned with Art Nouveau decorations. It felt like a waste to simply admire it from the outside, so I decided to attend a concert there. After a bit of research, I found that tickets were available even on the day, so I bought a reasonably priced seat and enjoyed a classical performance.
People often say that developing an appreciation for art requires exposure to authentic works from a young age. I never really had such opportunities, so to be honest, I’m not sure I fully understood its appeal. Still, I believe it’s better late than never. Through my travels, I’ve been trying to experience as much as I can, hoping that one day I’ll truly come to appreciate the beauty of art.
