*人生という旅路を誰と旅をするか
早いもので結婚して20年が経った。40代最後の年を迎えるが、心の中はまだまだ幼い気持ちのままであり、20代の頃と特に違いは無い。きっと人間いつまで経ってもそんなもので、更に年月が過ぎシニアになってもそうなんだろうと思う。
結婚記念日も20回目の節目ということで、有休を取って美術館を訪れたり、ちょっと高級なランチを食べたりした。特筆すべきような何かがあったわけでもないが、20年共に歩み幸せに暮らして来られたことに感謝をした。
良く言われることだが、人生とは旅のようなものである。人生には色々なことがあるのでどのような旅にするかは中々思い通りには行かないが、誰と旅をするかは自身の選択であり決断である。ありふれた旅程でも、共に旅する人次第で楽しい旅になる。お陰様で私の今回の旅はとても幸せな旅となっている。妻よ。いつもありがとう。
*Who You Journey With in Life
It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since we got married. As I approach the final year of my 40s, I still feel much the same as I did in my 20s—perhaps a little more experience, but my heart remains young. Maybe that’s just human nature; I imagine it’ll be the same even as we grow older and become seniors.
To mark our 20th wedding anniversary, we took a day off to visit a museum and enjoy a slightly luxurious lunch. There was nothing particularly grand about the day, but I felt deeply grateful for the 20 happy years we've spent together.
People often say that life is like a journey. While we can’t always control where the road leads, we can choose who we travel with. Even the most ordinary path becomes a joyful adventure depending on your companion. I'm fortunate—this journey of mine has been a truly happy one. Thank you, my dear wife.
